Dr. Ilan Cohen earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Psychology, and Biology, graduating Cum Laude from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed a unique Cornea and Refractive Surgery fellowship at the renowned Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his internship at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, and his residency in Ophthalmology at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City. He is Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
When asked, “why did you choose eye surgery?” Dr. Cohen answers:
“I became interested in eye surgery, after my younger brother had an eye injury that required several surgeries. I developed a deep passion and respect for this art, which saved my brother’s eye, and decided to pursue it as my career. On my journey, I discovered that eye surgery is a multidimensional field with elements of art, science, experience, technology, innovation, devotion and talent. I am forever grateful for the satisfaction, challenges and the perpetual growth that it provides me.”
On a more personal note: Dr. Ilan Cohen speaks four languages. His interests include: playing piano, scuba diving, playing squash, ballroom dancing, poetry, traveling and Yoga.
Doctor Blondo began his medical studies as an undergraduate at Columbia University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in New York City. He received his Bachelors degree in Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Blondo went on to Medical School at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After receiving his Medical degree and graduating with AOA Alpha Omega Alpha honors (Honor Medical Society), he went on to intern with the Maimondes Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
After his Residency, Dr. Blondo went on to become a Resident MD, Chief Resident of Ophthalmology, a New York University School Board member, and Holmdel Board of Education member. He is a member of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Contemporary Ophthalmology.
The Doctor has published multiple articles for medical journals like “The Monthly Exclusive” and continues his 26 years of private practice experience in New Jersey. Dr. Blondo is a family man first and foremost. He is married and is a father of four wonderful children.
Dr. Krishna Morar earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and received his doctorate degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry where he graduated with honors.
He then completed a residency in ocular disease management focusing on glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and cataracts. Dr. Morar also specializes in contact lens fitting for several corneal diseases.
Dr. Morar has received several awards for excellence in his field, including the Dr. William M. Eisenberg Memorial Award for Excellence in Ocular Disease, and the GP Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence in the field of GP Contact Lenses. He has also published several articles for medical publications such as the “Optometry & Vision Science Journal”.
Dr. Nancy Argano earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Biology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She received her doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University-College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she graduated with clinical and professional honors.
While in Optometry school, Dr. Argano completed her externship training at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she trained alongside some of the world’s leading experts in eye care.
Dr. Argano’s clinical expertise and interests include contact lens management and the treatment and management of ocular disease including corneal diseases, dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetes.
Dr. Argano was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She was the recipient of the GP lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence in the fitting of GP contact lenses. She is a member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.
