Whenever we have patients that have come from the New York area that want the best, we refer all of these patients to Dr Cohen – he is the best.

Gavin Samuels, MD

Intensive Care Physician, Teva Pharmaceuticals

I had Lasik surgery performed by Dr. Ilan Cohen about three years ago, and in deciding who to go to have the surgery done I was looking for three things. I was looking for someone with deep subject matter expertise, and Dr. Cohen certainly demonstrated that. He explained the whole procedure and I was very interested in the physics and technology and he was able to explain it to me in a very deep way which was very impressive to me. I also looked for someone who was precise with a high degree of attention to detail, and Dr. Cohen certainly demonstrated that as well. He re-checked the measurements three times. I had the first and second consultation and then just before the surgery he rechecked it again. Again that was very impressive to me, that someone took so much care in making sure what the measurements were correct.

Nathaniel Horn, MD

Allergy Specialist, New York City, NY

I am medical doctor specializing in allergy and immunology. I met Dr. Cohen through a recommendation of an ophthalmologist that I work with when I was looking for getting LASIK surgery and I had my LASIK surgery in PRK in 2007, and I am extremely happy. My vision is 20-15 in both eyes and I have no problems.

Aron, Porter, MD

Dr. David Lax

Eye Physician, Manalapan, NJ

I have a very tough time seeing where the flaps were made with Dr. Cohen’s patients – it is that smooth and clean of an operation.

Dr. Brian Cohen, OD

Eye Physician, Yardley, PA

He has become my number one referral source for all of my patients… When it comes to my eyes or my family eyes, he’s my number one choice…

Dr. Steve Rubinstein, OD

Optometrist, New York City, NY

I have been an optometrist for 19 years. And in that time I have worked with a number of different surgeons. I think Dr. Cohen has some of the best hands I have ever seen. I can honestly say that it is a pleasure to work with him because I know that when he’s got somebody’s eyes in his hands he does a beautiful job. What is so nice about it is that you barely see any of the effect on the eye except for the clarity in your vision. When we end here we get a 20 happy, because it is better than 20-20. Which means that the patient is able to see what they need to see and what they want to see. And it is a comfortable type of vision. Other surgeons that we work with do a good job also, but what we really like about Dr. Ilan is just the ability to focus on what the patient needs and give that patient what is the best available as of now. And he is an innovator in techniques, and he uses all the techniques that are available, and he enjoys working with new technology. Things that other people won’t do and are scared to do Dr. Ilan can do with ease.

Dr. E. Bruce DiDonato

Eye Physician, Princeston, NJ

I’m confident in Dr. Cohen’s surgical abilities and if a member of my family needed an eye surgical procedure, Dr. Cohen would be the man for the job.

Nooshin Rastegar, MD

Cataract and LASIK Surgeon, Dubai

I have known Dr. Cohen for more than 10 years through his reputation and personal interaction. He is one of the best surgeons I know. If I have a case, a complicated case, and I have a question, I will call him…

Dr. Roy Cohen

Eye Doctor, Town Optical, New York City

It has been a privilege to be associated with Dr. Cohen for the last four years. As a busy practicing optometrist we have many options where to send our patients. We are privileged to be working with Dr. Cohen closely for the last four years. Managing hundreds of patients, who have had all kinds of refractive surgery. Dr. Cohen is a true refractive surgeon. What does that mean? It means that there is more than one procedure to correct your vision. I think most patients, most people, consumers especially know about Lasik, but there are many other procedures that work, that correct vision. Intra-ocular lens implants, lasek, which is l-a-s-e-k, PRK, epi-lasik, intralace, there are many different options that work to correct that patients vision. Dr. Cohen has pretty much tailored these procedures for the patients particular eye. Not every eye is the same, and not every eye, and not every procedure works equally with different patients, and Dr. Cohen knows from a personal vantage point, what will work best for our patients. We are very privileged to have had this success over the last four years with Dr. Cohen, and I’m also privileged to tell you that my mother has had surgery with Dr. Cohen, that my father, my two first cousins, and hundreds of my own patients, have had this procedure with Dr. Cohen.

I heartily recommend Dr. Cohen, at least to evaluate you, and to see if you’re a good candidate for surgery. One of the main purposes of the evaluation is to find out if you are the right person for surgery. Not every eye will be successful with surgery, and one of the reasons why Dr. Cohen is so successful, is because he is very conservative, he is not going to do a procedure on a person, unless that procedure is going to result in success, and easy outcome, and good outcome. And any borderline cases, or any gray area cases, will not be done by Dr. Cohen. So, it is our advice to please see if, and to find out if you’re a good candiate, and he will let you know what procedure will work best for your eye.

LASIK Surgery Patient

The procedure went by very quickly believe it or and the actual time when they’re working on your eyes is very very fast…I woke up this morning without no glasses at all and I could see very well…

Aina P.

PRK / LASEK Surgery Patient

Because of my vision he recommended PRK for me…I’m so glad I did it, I see clear, as soon as I was done with the operation he told me to look at the clock and I saw it clearly as if I had my glasses on.

PRK / LASIK Surgery Patient

Dr. Cohen just seemed like the right choice. He had a great presentation. Good track record, history. I heard about him through my ophthalmologist, Dr. Rubinstein. I am just looking forward to not having to wear the contacts. Just those little annoyances to be free of those. And just to have vision when you wake up in the morning and being able to see clearly in the morning.

The surgery was really quick and easy. I just tried to stay as calm as possible. I can see clearly. Near vision, far vision, is right on. It’s remarkable. Like I said, getting up in the morning, being able to see the car, across the room. Being able to walk down the street, being able to see the street signs. Two three blocks off 20-20 vision or better. It is excellent. It was easy, it was incredibly easy. I felt pretty calm throughout the entire surgery, and yesterday just took it easy after the procedure, and went back to work today. I’m feeling fine, just a lot of eye drops, but that’s to be expected. And it was very easy, very quick… If you had bad vision.. I would definitely recommend getting surgery done. You can see that’s all there is to it.

Keratoconus PK / Laser Patient

I feel wonderful, I can see, the operations went flawlessly, never had any hiccups, no problems. Dr. Cohen did a great job and I’m very happy with the results, can’t be any happier. The best thing in the world is to see again.

A. B.

PRK / LASEK Surgery Patient

I had a cataract in each eye, I went and had an operation on the first eye – on the right, and then I went and had an operation six weeks later on the left eye.

And now after the operation I can see very clearly at night. I have no problem. I don’t need glasses during the day, I could see very good, without glasses. Dr. Cohen put special lenses in my eyes, so at night I could drive and in the day time I could read without glasses.

Lasik Surgery Patient

Dr. Cohen came extremely recommended to me, and I’ve known him for a few years, and I’ve seen what he has done for other people, and I trust the people that he’s done it for, so now is the time. Actually I tried to get it done a few times prior, and he told me that I wasn’t able yet, because I think I was abusing my contact lenses. And I was actually getting a little frustrated, and I went to another doctor.

My vision today is excellent. Doctor said it was 20-20. Before surgery I couldn’t see seven inches in front of me. I did a lot of research and I found out that Dr. Cohen came highly recommended by a friend of mine. And after checking out some other places, Dr. Cohen actually rejected me the first time I came here.

He said you’re abusing your contact lenses, and after checking out some other places and they approved me on the spot, and that made me very nervous. I felt more like a customer rather than a patient. So, I came back and he told me, just don’t wear contacts for a couple of months. And that’s what I did. And he approved me the next time I came. And it was a wonderful experience. The next day I could see perfect. If any of you guys have any issues with your eyes, I highly recommend going through the procedure. Thank you so much Dr. Cohen, you’re a life saver.

PRK / LASEK Surgery Patient

Everything was beautiful, no pain whatsoever.

Joe W.

Cataract Surgery Patient

I had been diabetic ever since I was six. I had problems with my eyes growing up. I went to my retina doctor, and he did some work there, but as times went on I developed cataracts. I went to different doctors around the area, and nobody wanted to touch it, nobody wanted to be bothered. I was too young, 43 at the time.

I went to see Dr. Cohen after being referred to him by my retina doctor. He told me it would be a simple procedure, in and out the same day. No pain, the next day back to work. It was night and day, colors are great. Vision at night was a lot better. I could see everything a lot better. It’s just that overall general vision is so much better after getting cataracts done. In my job, I am a detective with the county of Middlesex and I need my vision all the time. As far as identifying people, looking at house numbers, cars and stuff like that. Prior to me getting the operation done, I had a difficult time distinguishing all the things that I need to see. It is like night and day, the night being the worst and the day being the best. It is like day time all the time for me now. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

Effendy W.

Lasik Surgery Patient

I thought it was amazing, after the surgery was done, I took a nap about two hours, I could see like from my bedroom to my dining room. I was just amazed, and I was really happy with it. So, it was a little bit uncomfortable when the doctor was trying to put the tool to open up your eyes, and you kind of like stare. But other than that I didn’t feel any pain at all, so.

A. G.

Restor Lens Patient

I wasn’t able to see into the distance and I had trouble seeing up close. And the glasses weren’t helping. After this was done I can see the whole room across. And especially on one eye, I can see small small print. And the other eye, is getting along very much the same. The surgical process was fantastic. I got in there, and before I knew it, it was over.

Jonathan W.

PRK Surgery Patient

I went to Dr. Cohen, who did a laser procedure on my right eye and it really improved my vision. Well now with my right eye I could read stuff, like I could read street signs and stuff out of my right eye before, just always focusing with my left eye…

Jillian

Lasik Surgery Patient

It was good. The most uncomfortable you feel is when they hold your eyes open, besides that it’s fine. I can see pretty good now, I just have a little blur. And I’m sure that if you look at my eyes, you can’t tell I had surgery.

Elizabeth S.

PRK / LASEK Surgery Patient

It’s so nice sleeping and waking up and seeing; and watching TV and falling asleep on the sofa and not having that guilty feeling about not taking your contacts out.

Jane A.

Cataract Surgery with Toric Lenses Patient

I found out that I had a catarct after I had seen Dr. Cohen and he suggested that I get them removed, and I was oh.., can I just wait till I am 75 or 80, and he said, no, I would see better if I got them removed. So I said okay, and he set the appointment. And I was nervous. Actually scared to death of saying, well OK, if something happens I have another eye and it was all for nothing, because the surgery was quick, painless.

The people there put you at ease, Dr. Cohen puts you at ease, and he’s an excellent doctor. I felt a little pressure as he did what he had to do and five minutes later, I was up sitting in a chair, and 10 minutes later, I was up dressed, and ready to go home. It was great and there was no pain, and I woke up and I’m like wow, I can see I drove here without my glasses… which is the first. Since 4th grade I was wearing glasses for distance, I don’t need them for distance any more. And I am very, very happy.

Theresa S.

LASIK Surgery Patient

Dr. Cohen is a very nice guy. I met him before, when I was going to attempt this, and my nerves weren’t quite ready to deal with it. But he was very informative. Him and his assistant who was there, and just the whole experience, they made it a little bit more pleasurable. My nerves weren’t totally frazzled by the time the procedure started. So it was great.

He talked of everything and so that helped, rather than like a surgery, you go in and you come out, and you don’ know what to expect. But everything was very much explained to me and I liked that so, the change is good. This is my year of change and renovation, so that started with my eyes. They don’t have to be afraid and I’m the biggest chicken, so if I can do it anyone can.

Mr. & Mrs. D

Cataract Surgery Patients

We tell everybody about it, and whenever I see somebody with glasses and they’re squinting and they’re having such a difficult time and they ask me to read the menu, or could I read this for them, and I say I have just the thing for you, and I recommend Dr. Cohen and the ReSTOR lenses and that they’ll never be sorry, it will be the best money they ever spent.
