Cataract Surgery: Get Your Vision Back

If you’ve been told by your eye doctor that you have cataracts, schedule a consultation to learn more about getting them removed using laser cataract surgery. You can choose from a few treatment options, many of which are partly covered by most insurance plans.

If you’re seeing halos around lights, glare when driving or blurriness that glasses can’t fix, your cataracts will only continue to get worse.

Cataract surgery removal surgery is one of the safest procedures performed today. Dr. Cohen has more than a 99% success rate.

Glaucoma Treatments: Catching the Silent Vision Thief

Glaucoma has no symptoms and no cure. Left untreated, it may eventually cause you to go blind. But you can do something about it. You can slow down or possibly halt the worsening of your vision by having Dr. Cohen perform one or more of the treatment options for glaucoma, including the latest laser procedures.

But catching it early is critical to preserving your vision. The earlier your glaucoma gets detected, the more treatment options you’ll have to choose from, and the higher your chances of success.

The best way to find out if you have glaucoma is with a comprehensive eye exam with dilation.

Treat Keratoconus with Corneal Collagen Crosslinking

Glasses and contact lenses can only do so much to correct the vision problems caused by this mostly genetic eye disease. The same holds true for people experiencing post-LASIK ectasia. If you have one of these conditions, your cornea is thinning and forming into an unnatural cone shape that distorts vision and makes it difficult to wear vision correcting contact lenses.

Corneal collagen crosslinking (CXL) is a newer treatment that strengthens the fibers of the cornea and slows the progressive distortion of keratoconus.

CXL is the only keratoconus treatment which can slow the rate of progression of the disease. It works best the sooner treatment begins, before your corneas become too misshapen.

Patients who have undergone CXL are also candidates for the latest keratoconus treatment, Topography-Guided Photorefractive Keratectomy, a procedure that helps reshape the cornea, once the fibers have been strengthened, in order to improve vision.
